Berth Restaurant and Bar

Berth Restaurant & Bar

Berth is quite a lively place when we visited on Sunday - it was to full capacity for sunday lunch.
There are minor caveats when we tried to book - this place doesnt accept bookings for less than 10 people.

The atmosphere is that of a place to meet and eat out, very lively indeed with a lot of people enjoying amongst themselves, and it seems to be a popular place to eat at with families and weekend catchup with friends.

Brunch is a popular entry on Sundays, many people opting for the breakfast menu still after 1.00 pm. We faced a bit of a wait at the bar while the staff was looking for a table.
A quick quip here - I think service should be a little more responsive.

The food however came relatively quick, entrees within ten minutes and the mains within half an hour of ordering.

We ordered relatively simple fare with mixed dips, turkish bread with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, traditional beer battered Fish & Chips and a grilled Atlantic Salmon on steamed cous-cous, finally the classic Chicken parmigiana.

Berth is good value with decent serves, fresh produce and is generally an all rounded restaurant.

Post Office Cafe - Hurstbridge

On our wanderings down Kinglake, which is north of Melbourne is the township of Hurstbridge. Hurstbridge has nice cafes giving it a village feel like Marysville and Warburton.

Next to the town's Post Office is their aptly named Post Office Cafe - their cafe fare salads are quite tasty.

A new day, a new life.

When we first thought about doing this blog, we decided we'd like to cover the things we love - living life, cooking and dining out.

This is what "Yummie Tummie" strives for - we hope you enjoy our blog.
